I have the motor out of my 90 TT and am replacing the oil pan, valve cover, exhaust, intake gaskets, cam seals, turbos/wastegates, plus all the normal tune up stuff (belts, hoses, timing belt...). Supposedly the last owner had the top end all rebuilt about 13k miles ago. How much extra work would it be to replace head gaskets on it? I would be PO if I put it back together with no gasket change and blew one. Also...How beneficial is it to remove the EGR? What else should I look at replacing while the motor is out? I heard the oil pumps were notorious in these.
